John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Perhaps this verse is one of the most memorized and quoted verses throughout the Bible. It teaches us on God’s immense love for all humankind, and it shows the depths God went to in order for us to see His great love. One should not read this verse without also appreciating the universality of God’s love. The Bible teaches us here that God so loves the world. First of all in the words of Sade, “this is no ordinary love” God “so loved” which denotes a strong fervor to the object it is attached to, in this case that is us.
Who is us? For some church goers they may like to view this as just applying to them. But no friends, while it is true God does love you but He also loves the world. Yes, the very world some turn their noses up at, and look down upon and dooms to hell, God loves. God loves those whom society castigates, and persecutes. God loves those that many of us walk by and do not notice, such as the homeless, and poor. Even more astounding, God loves those who may hate and do not believe in Him.
Not only does God love us all, He did an act of love, in fact the greatest act of love this world has ever and will ever see. God sent His son, Jesus Christ to this world. God took action to benefit our society we call earth. Beloved of my Father, God performed a social action! His action was for the benefit of all society. God did all this knowing that this world would crucify His Son. How great a love is that!
The scripture says, “For God so loved the world that He gave..”
In closing, if we love God as much as we say we do my question is this: What do we give? What do we give to help those whom God loves? What action do you take which benefits society? No, you can’t send Jesus to die on the cross again for everyone’s sins. But you can give yourself. Give yourself to a cause that is greater than yourself give your all to God and serve Him by serving others. I know you may say you cannot save or change the world, but you probably can change the street you live on, or the apartment complex you live in or you could make a difference in someone’s life who is less fortunate than you. The key thing is to be led by God to do something. People may not like the gift God is asking you to give. Thats alright though, take solace in the fact that some in the world still do not like God’s gift of Jesus. But give your gift anyway because in essence you are not serving man, but God.
The central point for this post is to know that God loves you and He does not just tell you He loves you, God gives us all His Son. If you have not accepted God’s gift to you, I invite you to get to know Him NOW! Tomorrow may indeed be too late! Say God I am a sinner, but I receive your gift to me, Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life now and fill me with your Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen. Now please go join with a Bible believing Church.
If you already have accepted God’s gift and confessed Christ, God sent me here to challenge you to do some socially uplifting action that shows this world which God loves, the love of Christ. The key being here that if God never stopped loving the world, who are we to turn our backs on the very people God sent His Son for so that they might saved. Do not forget, as always, if you have a special request as it relates to this subject matter send me a prayer request. May God richly bless you and yours.
