Pope Francis is right! Greed is sinful. Unregulated capitalism is real and dangerous.

The pope was right in what he said about unregulated capitalism. Keep speaking the truth Pope Francis. The tyranny of greed is crippling America and the world. Capitalism has its merits, the idea people can gain as much as they possibly can by selling goods  at the price the free market demands. However, unchecked those markets can stifle what they were ideally designed to create, more opportunities of financial success for the greatest amount of people. Without regulation we would have countless monopolies in each industry, little to no environmental standards and the discovery of cheap labor will be the highest priority for any business venture. Things such as public education funding, 8 hour work days, holidays off, a minimum wage, health insurance, and other benefits most Americans now take for granted would be obsolete were it not for some type of regulation. Another thing President Obama was right, none of these businesses would be where they are if someone had not helped them out in some sort of way; be it the roads the construction workers drove on to build their million dollar facility, the tax breaks, subsidies, or abatements they receive just to locate in a certain area, or even the protection of the local police department from local criminals not to mention the peace and stability having the greatest military in world standing ready to defend your international interest. NO BUSINESS has gotten where they are without some assistance from the government. So why is it unreasonable for that same government to put some slight restriction or regulation on them. Moreover, Pope Francis is right because Jesus teaches us that we are to look out for the “least of these” if anyone in society is given a helping hand to succeed based on the Bible it should be not the rich but the poor. As a Christian, I am to look out for those who cannot do for themselves. Based on scripture in Mathew 25 Jesus tells us to feed those who are hungry, give water to those who are thirsty, visit those who are incarcerated. Pope Francis keep up the great work! I am not Catholic but from one Christian to another I pray God richly blesses you and gives you strength in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
