PRAISE THE LORD FOR A WONDERFUL SERVICE YESTERDAY! A Summary of the sermon

We had a splendid time yesterday in worship. The praise and worship, songs, testimonies and the sermon were truly blessed. God used me to come out of Psalms 37:1-5; “1Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass

The title was “Do not sweat it”
The first reason why believers ought not to sweat it is because the Bible teaches us in verse 2 that the evil doers will soon be cut down. Therefore don’t sweat it because your problems are only temporary. Trouble does not last always. The darkest hour is just before day. Say to your situation “This to shall past”

The second reason why we should not sweat it is because we should do as verse 3 says “Trust in the Lord” Humans cannot have two emotions at the same time. One cannot be happy and sad at the same time. Now one can be happy one minute and sad the next and severe cases of this is known as being bi-polar. But never have I met someone who experienced both at the same time. Likewise. Christians cannot claim to trust God, and worry or sweat their problems at the same time. It is an impossiblity. My dad always tells me “if you pray don’t worry and if you worry don’t pray” Essentially saints if you claim to trust in the Lord, then you need to in fact trust in the Lord, and when crisis comes, when the evil doer attacks, when people begin to lie on you, cheat on you, remember God says “do not fret thyself over evil doers” God is saying to you “Don’t Sweat It!” Also this scripture says and do good, do not retaliate. During this Black History Month I am reminded of the Civil Rights leaders such as Rosa Parks, and Rev. Martin Luther King who trusted in God. They did not retaliate they did good as the scripture teaches and so should we.

The third and final reason listed as to why we should not sweat it is because we should do what the Word says in verse 4: Delight in the Lord. Believers should not sweat it because we should delight in the Lord! We should find our pleasure, our joy, our satisfaction in the Lord and what God materialistically gives us. Why is this important? Because the evil doer may try and take many things from you, but the enemy can never take the Lord from you. The enemy may can take your gifts, but not the Giver, so don’t sweat it. The evil doer may try and hurt your health, but your enemy cannot take your Healer. so Don’t Sweat It. The evildoer may try and take your job, but he cannot take your Provider, so Don’t Sweat It. Therefore, beloved of my Father’s children Don’t Sweat it for your trial is only temporary, continue to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, and Delight yourself in God and He will give you the desires of your heart.

If you have not confessed Christ then you have no hope in overcoming the evil doer. Therefore I ask you to meet someone who conquered our evildoer, and He can wipe your sweat away so you will not have to “Sweat it.” His name is Jesus Christ. If you do not know Him you can truly meet Christ right now by sincerely saying “God I am a sinner, and I have been sweating and worrying about any and everything. I need you to come into my life forgive me for my sins and be my Lord and Savior. I accept what you did for me when you died on the Cross, and I celebrate in the victory I have in you who conquered the grave and rose on the third day. In Jesus Name Amen!! If you prayed that prayer friend, Congratulations! you are now a member of the body of Christ. I pray that you go join a Bible believing Christ Centered Church. If you live in the Mobile area please come by St. Paul A.M.E. Church off Michigan Avenue on Rev. A T Days St. We would be happy to have you. Be Blessed!
